KORE (Kootenay Outdoor Recreation Enterprise) is hosting a Re-Hub Repair Pop-Up at Re-Fest. Integrated with our repair café, the pop-up will feature sewing and repair expertise for clothing, technical wear, and more.

The Repair Cafe is a place that you can to learn how to repair everyday items with the guidance of knowledgeable volunteers.
Try your hand at fixing:
• Clothing (including outdoor apparel) presented by KORE Outdoors Rehub Tour
• Small household appliances
• Shoes - This year at Re-Fest, Universal Footwear will be offering shoe repairs by donation.

It’s a garage sale - from your car! Hop trunk-to-trunk to find new-to-you treasures, or fill up your car and get spring cleaning.

WORKSHOPS

Fix It Workshops by donation
We want to empower you to learn some new skills with some experienced teachers from the community. These workshops will be by donation and we suggest you arrive early if there is a specific one you’d like to attend.
8:30-11:00- Learn how to sew:
Come make your own stuffed animal! New to sewing or it’s been a while since you handled a needle and thread? This workshop will teach you the basics, and you will walk away with a handsewn animal of your own creation. You’re welcome to bring your own fabric, or materials will be provided.
8:30- 12:00- Sewing Machine 101
Learn the ins and outs of a sewing machine in this hands-on workshop. Once you have those down, we will teach you how to make a bag from upcycled jeans. Space is limited, so arrive early for the best chance of a spot.
11:00-3:00- Sashiko/ Visible mending:
Learn how to fix or create some flare to your clothing.
Sashiko- Is a traditional Japanese visible mending technique using simple running stitches and heavy cotton thread to reinforce or repair textiles, usually over a fabric patch.
Visible mending- Is a creative way to stylize repairs done on clothing. This can be done with thread and patches.
We suggest you bring in a piece of clothing that you would like to add some mending onto.
12:00- 3:00- Knitting
Learn the fundamentals of knitting including how to use needles and yarn.

Come visit our free/by donation hands-on craft stations and learn how to make something from upcycled materials.
8:30- 3:00- Lino prints
Customize your clothing with original, artist-made lino cut prints. Bring a piece of clothing with you or grab something from the clothing swap. Please note it takes 12 hours for the ink to dry.
8:30- 12:00 - Climbing rope rugs
Give old climbing ropes a second life by weaving them into a durable, functional rug. Bring your own retired rope or use the materials provided.
8:30- 12:00 - Paper Flowers
Create a beautiful flower out of recycled paper.
12:00- 3:00 - Upcycled jewelry
Have old jewelry you don’t want? Bring it along and make it into something new. We will also have lots of materials so you can get creative and design a new pair of earrings or necklace.
12:00- 3:00 - Wood block photo transfers
We will be using scrap wood blocks and transferring magazine images onto them. It’s almost like magic. Come check it out!
SWAPS

Where: Multipurpose Room at the Revelstoke Community Center
When: Clothing Drop off (see location for drop off here) - 8:30-10am (we will accept clothing no later than 3pm)
Swap - 10am-3pm
Come find second-hand treasures for all ages and sizes at our clothing swap. If you don’t have any clothes to swap but still want to pick up some fresh threads, please bring a cash donation. Don’t forget to bring a reusable shopping bag for all your new goodies!
Donations:
Accepting male/female/kids/baby clothing
Not accepting hats, scarves, mitts, underwear or socks
Only seasonal clothing: shorts, dresses, shirt and sweaters, no outerwear or winter clothes
Please ensure all clothing is washed
No clothing with stains or rips will be accepted
It is appreciated if all clothing is pre-sorted by size and type
Kids - 0-1, 1-2T, 3/4/5T, youth
Womens - dresses, tank tops, pants, t-shirts, long sleeves, shorts/skirts
Mens - pants, t-shirts, long sleeves, shorts

Where: On stage in the multi-purpose room of the Revelstoke Community Centre.
When: Drop off and swap all day long
Bring your favourite book, a stack of magazines, or come empty handed to find something new. Leave with a book or three for your summer reading list!
Please make sure books and magazines are in good condition including no water damage, all pages are intact and covers are present.
Kids, Young Adults, Fiction and non-fiction books are welcome. Magazines are also welcome.

Too much fabric ends up in landfill - we want to make sure it ends up in a crafters hands for a new project instead.

Presented by our friends at the Revelstoke Cycling Association, come find a new set of wheels for summer or get your pre-loved bikes out of the garage and into a new home. Everything from well-loved townies to last season’s mountain bikes is up for grabs at the bike swap!

We’re accepting: Bikes, pumps, pads, helmets, bike racks
We’re NOT accepting: Clothing, bike components
The RCA will collect a 15% commission capped at $100 on purchases.
All bikes must be dropped and registered by 10.30am.
All bikes not picked up by 2.30pm will be considered ABANDONED and will be donated
All proceeds support the Revelstoke Cycling Association.
